During the COVID-19 pandemic, as Zoom happy hours and social distancing became the new normal, my dogs played an even more central role in my social routine. Whether it was unwinding in the evenings, binge-watching Netflix, or having a glass of wine to celebrate the triumphs (and mishaps) of DIY house projects they were always by my side.

One evening, while jotting down ideas on a bar napkin in one of my favorite local restaurants, the concept for Cocktails with Fred was born. Fred, my steadfast and loyal sidekick, sparked the idea. I wanted him to join in those special moments. Combining two of my favorite things—wine and dogs—I envisioned a way to celebrate with my furry friends during milestones and day-to-day.

Dogs are more than pets; they're chosen family who share in our joys and comfort us in our sorrows. They deserve to be appreciated and included in our celebrations, raising a toast to their unwavering loyalty. From that humble bar napkin sketch, Cocktails with Fred emerged as a heartfelt tribute to the enduring bond between humans and dogs.
